Terry Lee Walters, 61, of Palatka, passed from this life on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville following an extended illness. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Terry was raised in South Putnam and was a 1978 graduate of Crescent City High School. Terry had owned and operated Walters Landscaping and Irrigation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in St. Augustine. In his leisure time, Terry enjoyed building race cars, drag racing, motorcycles and water sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob C. Walters.
Terry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Tia Murphy Walters of Palatka, 2 sons, Jed Elliott (Felicia), and Jay Walters (fiancé Paulina Dykes), all of Fort Wayne, IN, , his mother, Ethel Fleming of St. Augustine, a brother, Larry Walters (Debbie) of Enterprise, AL, a sister, Sherry McNett (Joe) of Satsuma, 3 grandchildren, Logan, Levi and Noah, brothers-in-law, Mark Murphy (Annette) of Carrollton, GA, Clay Murphy (Pam) of St. Augustine, sisters-in-law, Carla Sisk (Vernon) of Cumming, GA and Pat Findlan (Dan) of NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating Terry's life will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Family Worship Center, 2040 SR 207 N., St. Augustine with Pastor Philip Cochran officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. No visitation is scheduled.
Due to concerns with the Covid 19 pandemic, facial coverings are required for those attending. The services will also be livestreamed and may be accessed at www.thefwc.tv .
