Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He worked for E I DuPont, Parlin, N.J., for 31 years, where he was a member of the 25 Year Club, before retiring in 1991. After retirement from DuPont, Bill worked part time as assistant superintendent for Minnisink Village and as a driver for Metropolitan Limousine Service. After moving to St. Augustine, he was a driver for the Council on the Aging and volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity, the St. Johns County Ecumenical Food Pantry, and the Humane Society of St. Augustine.
Bill was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on his boat fishing with friends and family. Bill also enjoyed gardening, the beach and walking in the many beautiful parks in New Jersey and northeastern Florida.
Devoted and caring husband, father, son, brother and friend, he is survived by his wife and soul mate of 43 years, Carol (Schmidt) Murray; a daughter, Darlene (Jay) Heather, Orange Park, Fla.; two sons, William A. Murray, Jersey City, N.J., and David (Penny) Murray, Matawan, N.J.; his mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Charles Stryker, Seminole, Fla.; a brother, Karl Frost, Truxton, N.Y.; a sister, Lisa Anker, Lakeland, Fla.; and one grandson, Jacob Heather, currently serving in the U.S. Navy, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He is also survived by loving brothers-and sisters-in-law, a niece and several nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Bill's family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 to 4 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel.
