Billy Ray Crowe

Billy Ray Crowe, 61, of Ragland, AL, passed away February 26, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Geneva Crowe; and brothers, Johnny Crowe, Kenneth Crowe, Robert Crowe, and James Crowe. He is survived by his sisters, Lois Shook, Carolyn Yost (Kenny), Julia Phillips (Larry), Gayle Lee (Wayne), and Patricia Tollison (Marty); brother, William Crowe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Billy Ray was a man who truly never met a stranger. He welcomed everyone with a smile and a story, and his front porch was a place where friends and family always felt at home. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures - talking on his CB radio, listening to gospel music, and spending time loving on babies, which brought out his gentle and joyful spirit. He enjoyed eating fish with family and friends and had a love for adventure, especially exploring caves and catching sharks at the beach. Some of his favorite moments were riding fast on his golf cart or sitting at the dam watching people fish, content to take in the peacefulness around him. He will be remembered for his warm heart, friendly nature, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His kindness and love will live on in all who knew him. A funeral service was held at Fairview Baptist Church on March 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment was at Box Cemetery.
