Daniel P. Karch

Daniel P. Karch age 92, of Stevens Point died Saturday Aug. 23, 2014 at Maple Ridge Memory Care in Plover, WI. Daniel was born Jan. 31, 1922 in the Town of New Hope. He is the son of the late Michael & Frances (Wysocki) Karch.

During WWII, Daniel entered the US Army on July 26, 1945 and served with the occupation forces in Austria. He was honorably discharged July 13, 1946. His marriage to Irene Karpinski took place on Oct. 30, 1944 at St. Peter Catholic Church, she survives.

Daniel was employed for Joerns Furniture for a short time. He also worked as a press operator at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids for 17 years and retired after 18 years of employment at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point as part of the maintenance staff.

He enjoyed Ice fishing, open water fishing, gardening, taking care of his lawn and loved being a great handy man for all his children.

Survivors include his wife Irene, four sons: Richard (Nancy) & Gerald (Dorothy) of Stevens Point and Thomas & Dennis (Lisa) of Plover. Two daughters: Mary (Kurt) Zurawski of Custer & Elaine (Mike) Janz of Tomahawk. 10 Grandchildren & 14 Great grandchildren. One brother: Henry (Millie) Karch of Stevens Point. Two sisters: Agnes Rose of MI & Wanda Domaszek of Stevens Point. Preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter Laurie Karch, 4 brothers & 3 Sisters.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of services in the St. Faustina room at St. Peter Church. For online condolences please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
