Frederic Johnson Obituary

Johnson, Frederic H.

Frederic "Fred" Holmes Johnson of Stevens Point, 76, passed away on January 23rd, 2016.

Born in Sheboygan to C. Ray and Laura (Wandschneider) Johnson on November 25th, 1939, Fred was a well-known top salesman for the Shoppers' Herald, Steenberg Homes, and other local businesses. He particularly loved working for the Weber Tackle Company, which married his salesmanship with his passion for fishing. Fred had lifelong interests in sports and the Packers, duck hunting, the outdoors and wildlife, antiques and old houses, and he was a master steak griller. Fred and his son, Roger, shared a passion for buying and selling cars together. He loved music and appreciated artistry of all kinds, especially woodworking. He was a very talented artist and carpenter. Fred enjoyed helping others whenever he could. He believed in loyalty, generosity, good manners, good craftsmanship, living for today, and sharing good food with loved ones. Roger and Karisa are grateful that he enthusiastically encouraged them to follow their dreams and passions.

Fred is survived by his son, Roger Johnson of Stevens Point; his daughter, Karisa Johnson (Ken Strasma) of Middleton and his three granddaughters, Robin, Meryl, and Jordan; his friend, Deborah Reko of Stevens Point; his sister, Sandra (John) Resch of Sheboygan; his former wife, Lynn (William) Gilles of Palm Coast, FL; his daughter, Melanie Johnson Marcotte and his grandson, Nikolis Torres, of Santa Cruz, CA; his daughter, Manda Johnson and his two granddaughters, Zufan and Freweyni "Winnie" of East Lansing, MI; and his first wife, Jean E. Johnson of Trenary, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curtis Lauren Johnson.

As per Fred's wishes, there will be no public memorial service. The family is assisted by and may be reached through Boston Funeral Home.
