Bachinski, Germaine M.

Germaine M. Bachinski, 90, formerly of 641 Canal St., Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Our House Senior Living on 16th St. So., Wisconsin Rapids.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Timothy Welles will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will also be held today from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Germaine was born Nov. 5, 1920, to Joseph and Catherine (Razner) Niedbalski, in the town of Almond. She married Peter V. Bachinski, Oct. 1, 1945, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died Aug. 6, 1996.

Germaine worked as a switchboard operator at Johnson Hills in Wisconsin Rapids and for Stevens Point Telephone Co. Later, she worked for Christine Gloden's catering service for ten years.

Survivors include her three children, Edward (Sharon K.), and Roman (Sharon M.) Bachinski, both of Stevens Point, and Kathleen (Daniel) Kester of Wisconsin Rapids; ten grandchildren, Chris (Amy) Kester, Sarah (Joe) Wayne, Elizabeth Bachinski, Amy Bachinski, Emily Bachinski, Daniel Bachinski, Alex Bachinski, Michael Bachinski, Stephen Bachinski, and Lisa Bachinski; four great-grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Kester, and Adam and Sam Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; one sister, Agnes; and four brothers, Raymond, Emil, Stanley, and Anthony.
