Giese, James A. "Jim"

Jim Giese, age 76 of the Town of Carson died Monday Oct. 5, 2015 at his home. He was born June 16, 1939 in Stevens Point. He is the son of the late Arthur & Joan (Flugaur) Giese.

His marriage to Carolyn Omernik took place on June 24, 1961 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she survives. He was employed for Miron Construction as a Millwright Superintendent until his retirement in 2001. He is a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Millwright Local 1056. Jim enjoyed deer hunting, trout fishing, gardening & wood-working. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jim's name to St. Stephens Catholic Church and the Stevens Point YMCA would be appreciated.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn, children: David (Debra) Giese of Stevens Point, Barbara Giese of the Town of Carson, Robert (Jessica) Giese of Stevens Point and Rebecca (Alan) Bergstrom of New Hudson, MI. 16 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. Three sisters: Mary Jo (William) Arneson of Marshfield, Katie Sell of Appleton & Cynthia "Cindy" (Ernest) Kropidlowski of Stevens Point. Four Brothers-in-law: Donald (Jeanette), Richard (Karen), Gerald (Roxanna) & Thomas (Sandra) Omernik. Three Sisters-in-law: Kathleen (Gary) Erickson, Darlene & Cheryl Giese. Preceded in death by 1 son "Billy" age 2 weeks and brothers: Michael (Mary Jane), Thomas & Patrick.

Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will take place in the St. Stephens Parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Thursday morning at the Church. Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family. I still think of Jim often. We had some great hunting trips together in Oregon. A hard worker and good man I feel fortunate to have called my friend. I'm sure he's directing projects in Heaven.
