Kenneth Kostecki Obituary

Kenneth (Ken) J. Kostecki, age 65 of Plover, WI passed away at home on Sunday March 18th with his wife and family at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ken was born May 25, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to Henry Kostecki (deceased) and Eleanor Kostecki, who still resides in Milwaukee. Ken served in the US Army for three years achieving the rank of SP5. Following his discharge from active duty Ken completed a bachelors degree in business at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Ken worked as Operations Manager for Napa auto parts in their Stevens Point distribution center until he retired in June 1998. Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies as well as gold panning with his wife Brenda and friends in California. He was also a member of the Lions Club, VFW and Gold Panning Association of America.

Ken is survived by his loving wife Brenda and his cat and best buddy Pike of Plover WI and his devoted family - Jeff and Lori Morzenti and their children Tanya, Karissa and Toni of Weston WI, Sara and Bob Guski of Shakopee MN and their children Michael of Minneapolis, MN and Jennifer (Aaron Virnig and baby girl expected 6/2012) of Franklin WI, Linda and Joe Manzanares of Pence WI and their children Heather (Cory Sbraggia and grandchildren Braxton and Addisyn Jo) of Montreal WI, and Hailey Manzanares and Matt of Ironwood MI and Paul and Jennifer Morzenti and their children Hunter, Leah, Joel, Annabelle and Ashley of Eugene OR.

Ken is preceded in death by his father Henry and survived by his mother Eleanor and sibling Nancy Kostecki of Milwaukee, aunt Helene Sztukowski of Fond Du Lac and uncle Michael (Mickey) Samolinski of Milwaukee, and numerous other relatives

Per Ken's wishes he has been cremated and the family will have a private remembrance. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in honor of Ken to the Iron County Memorial Building Restoration Project. c/o Leola Maslanka , PO Box 217 Gile, WI 54525. Thank you to all friends and family who have been of such great assistance through Ken's long struggle. We owe a special thank you to the Hospice nurses who were so important to making Ken's final days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. Special thanks to all the caregivers of Aspirus Oncology Departments at the Wausau and Stevens Point Clinics and St Michaels Oncology in Stevens Point.

Brenda and Family, You are in our prayers. We have such wonderful memories of our times gold mining on the Scott river, the potluck dinners, watching Nascar and good stories.
