Lorraine Damask Obituary

Damask, Lorraine L.

Lorraine L. Damask, age 77, of Kenosha, died on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Brookdale of Kenosha surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born on July 6, 1938, in Stevens Point, to the late William and Helen (Stockfish) Serafin. She was educated in the schools of Stevens Point and had been a graduate of Stevens Point High School.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Leonard Damask on June 25, 1960, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. They recently celebrated their 55th Anniversary.

While in Stevens Point, Lorraine had been employed with Sentry Insurance and, later after her and Leonard relocated to Kenosha, she was employed part time at Jockey International while raising her family. Years later, she had been employed with UW-Parkside in the Physical Plant and in the Registrar's office until her retirement in 1997. Following her retirement, Lorraine continued her education at UW-Parkside, receiving her Bachelors of Art in 1998.

Lorraine was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and often lead the Altar Society. She was also active in St. Mary School and had served as a den mother and leader for both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was actively involved in the Association for Retarded Citizens "ARC", serving as past president. Lorraine loved spending time with her family and cherished the vacations they were able to take to Alaska, Florida, Texas, California, and throughout the United States.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by her husband, Leonard; her children, James Damask, Christine Damask, and Howard (Caroline) Damask; grandson, Evan Damask; brothers, Jerry (Mary Ann) Serafin and Frank (Jane) Serafin; sisters, Deloris Gollon and Helen Shomberg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herb and William Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 39th Avenue. A visitation for Lorraine will be held on Monday, September 7th from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Private entombment will take place in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial remembrances be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the Kenosha Achievement Center, 1218 79th St. Kenosha, WI 53144.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Brookdale Kenosha and Seasons Hospice for the tender and compassionate care given to Lorraine these past few years.
