Nellessen, Paul F.

Paul F Nellessen (73), beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2014. A resident of Greeneville, Tennessee, formerly Stevens Point and Rosholt Wisconsin, McHenry and Woodstock, Illinois, Paul was a respected business owner, realtor, land developer, hardware store owner, journeyman plumber, author, poet, songwriter and avid motorcyclist.

Paul was born on September 23, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Leopold and Natalie Nellessen, the forth of 18 children. He graduated high school at Saint Mary's, Woodstock, Illinois. He married his beautiful wife, Diane Wisniewski on September 24, 1962. Their firstborn child and first grandchild shared his birthday. His legacy includes 7 children, 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Paul loved to travel and took many motorcycle trips, including the USA Four Corners Motorcycle Tour, and family road trips, visiting every state in the country he loved.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Leopold Nellessen, mother Natalie (Hardt) Nellessen, sister Natalie Nellessen, brother David Nellessen and sister Therese (Nellessen) Greenhalgh. Survivors include his wife Diane Nellessen, his children Paula (Tamas) Houlihan, Jaqulynn (Thomas) Honl, Colleen (Jonathon) Eichsteadt, Mark (Katrina) Nellessen, Paul (Beth Herman) Nellessen, Laurene Nellessen, and Katherine Nellessen Jones, his grandchildren Erin, Jules, Meagan, Lauren, Brianna, Tatum, Jennifer, Hannah, Maxwell, Benjamin, Gavin, Trevor, Colton, Parker, Julia, Pierce, Austin, Mariah, Abigail, Elizabeth, and Rebecca; and his great-grandsons Brennon and Ethan; and his siblings Leopold (Patsy) Nellessen, George (Joy) Nellessen, Kathleen (Bill) Donat, Mark (Patricia) Nellessen, Patricia (Jim) Cook, John (Susan) Nellessen, Mary (Charles) Welke, Joseph Nellessen, Gerard Nellessen, Cecilia Nellessen, Martin Nellessen, Francine (David) Nettesheim, Judy (Scott) Thompson and Bernadette (Myron) Zynda. He will be dearly missed by all.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 - 3 & 5 - 8 PM and Wednesday from 12 - 2 PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel in Afton, TN. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with interment in Graceland Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Greg Barlow will officiate.
