Suzanne Peterson Obituary

Suzanne M. Peterson, age 72, of 3535 Vine St., Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home May 28, 2012 with her loving family & Maxwell, her canine companion by her side.

Sue was born September 25, 1939 to the late Armin & Linda (Kube) Britzke in Watertown, WI. She grew up on the family farm in Jefferson County, attended the local grade school, and graduated from Fort Atkinson Senior High.

She married Charles A. Peterson on September 20, 1958 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI.

Sue was a former member of the Stevens Point Jaycettes and a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and their Alter Guild. Sue loved arranging & giving flowers, in addition to planting flower gardens, bird watching, and chocolate. In her spare time she enjoyed camping, boating, baking, sewing, shopping, collecting angels, playing cards with her card club, traveling, and attending the EAA Airshows. She loved helping people such as volunteering her time at the Portage County Aging & Disability Resource Center. Sue cherished her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. They were the "light of her eyes" & "could do no wrong".

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend. Her sense of humor & contagious laughter will live on in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Peterson of Stevens Point; children, Jeffery (Barbara) Peterson of Stevens Point, & their children, Anna & Jonathan; Linda (Russ) Ludlum of Stoughton, & their children, Marisa & Ashley; and Kim (Jeff) Delikowski of Stevens Point, & their children, Forrest, Jennifer, & Hunter. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Britzke; nieces & nephews; and many dear friends.

A Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 3, 2012 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Stevens Point, with Rev. Thomas Petersen officiating. Visitation will also be held on Sunday from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Burial will follow the service in St Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Sue's family would like to thank the staff of Ministry Hospice & Ministry Home Care for their compassion & support throughout this difficult time. -Especially to Gretchen, Jenny, Brenda, Dana, Amber, & JoAnn: "We couldn't imagine getting through this without you." They would also like to thank Kristin Peterson, NP of Klasinski Neurocare for her "above & beyond" care, compassion, & dedication. There are no words to express our deepest gratitude.
