Jacqueline "Jackie" O'Brien

1924 - 2025

Age 101, of Bayport, passed away on March 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She grew up on the North Hill in Stillwater where many other Italians resided. She was valedictorian of her Stillwater High School graduating class of 1941. Jackie married Dick O'Brien in 1951 and settled in Bayport where they raised their five children. She assumed various jobs in her life including that of bookkeeper and volunteer but the role in which she took the most pride in was that of wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. Jackie was a sports fan who loved watching golf and keeping up with the Twins and Vikings. She loved cruising the St. Croix River aboard the "Jackie O" and traveling with friends. She enjoyed spending time up North, taking many summer trips to Maddens and to family lake homes.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff (Debbie), Mike, Mary, Tom, Jim (Anne), bonus daughter, Sue; grandchildren, Jaymie, Mike (Renee), Dave (Akky), Danielle, Dan, Alli, Riley; great grandchildren, Dayna, Sanika, Henry, Zelda, along with a fifth arriving in June; extended family members. Preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years Dick; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Stewart; daughter-in-law, MaryPat O'Brien.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and deepest appreciation for the care she received at Croixdale. Also sharing a special place in Jackie's life and in her heart were her special caregivers that included Daphne, Sara, Anne A., Christy, and Kelly. They were a gift not only to Jackie, but to her family.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 19th at the Church of St. Charles, 409 3rd St. N., Bayport, MN 55003. Visitation was held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial at St. Michael's Cemetery, Bayport, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's choice.
