Randal "Randy" Jon Kaphing, age 61, passed away on August 29, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born on April 29, 1964, in Mason, Michigan, Randy lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family and a steadfast commitment to those he loved.

Randy dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Andersen Windows, where his loyalty and work ethic left a lasting impression. After retiring from his long-standing career, he chose to focus entirely on caring for his son Frank-a decision that reflected the depth of his love and sense of responsibility as a father.

He was fiercely devoted to his wife Cathy and their sons, Frank and Hollis. His unwavering support, sharp sense of humor, and generous spirit were qualities that endeared him to those closest to him. He embraced fatherhood with enthusiasm and heart-earning the affectionate title of "the cool parent," a distinction he wore with pride.

Randy had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel that led him on several unforgettable journeys with Hollis. Together they explored new places by planes, trains, automobiles-and even took to the skies in a helicopter-creating memories that will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife Cathy; sons Frank and Hollis; mother Eleanor Peterson; brother Rory; sister Robin Schifsky (Myles); brother-in-law Greg (Leanne); and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Loren "Joe" Kaphing and parents-in-law Al and Charlotte Kubicka.

Randy's presence brought warmth and laughter into every room. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
