MICHAEL THEISSEN 08/24/1948 - 10/06/2025 Fairmont - A Celebration of Life Visitation for Michael "Mike" H. Theissen, 77, of Fairmont will be 3 to 5 p.m. on October 24, 2025, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Mike passed away on Monday, October 6 at Spring Creek Independent and Assisted Living in Armstrong, Iowa. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements. Michael Herbert Theissen was born on August 24, 1948, in St. James. He was the son of Alex and Adeline (Crumlett) Theissen. Mike attended St. James Catholic Parochial School before later graduating from St. James High School. He furthered his education for two years at Rosemount Technical School. On September 4, 1976, Mike was united in marriage to Jean Craig at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. The couple resided in the Denver, Colo., area before moving back to Fairmont in 2013. Mike worked in commercial sales for General Electric for over 32 years until his retirement. Mike was a member of Knights of Columbus in Fairmont. During his free time, he enjoyed camping, watching baseball and football, and taking drives with Jean especially through the mountains as Mike had a love of the outdoors. Mike always had a special place in his heart for their cats, Precious and Lucy. He was known for collecting donkey trinkets and there was a good chance he was going to use them to play a practical joke on someone. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean Theissen of Fairmont; brother, Steve (Pam) Theissen of Anchorage, Alaska; brother-in-law, Charles Craig of McCook Lake, S.D.; sister-in-law, Linda Craig of McCook Lake; nephews, Matthew Theissen of Anchorage and Buddy Barrett of St. Paul; and other relatives and friends.
