I last saw Aaron in 2009 while recruiting in Rolla. The stories of road trips and studying all night for tests through four years. Our sons share the same name. Odd. Aaron and I would catch up every few years, get a laugh or two, talk about a few folks. I just saw this today in our alumni magazine. Thoughts with his family.

Aaron was the perfect match for my sister. His towering presence and intellect offered unwavering security, his sense of humor provided daily laughter and joy, his love was a constant source of comfort. I am filled with sorrow and grief and will miss him deeply. He lives within each of us now as silent strength and hope.

Aaron, thank you for the friendship through the years. I can still recall grade school days all the way through High School into our adult lives. So many people have commented on your kind disposition and such a genuine person and that is truly how you approached life. We won't forget our Ace on the mound. Miss you buddy.....

Kristen & Katie -
We were blessed to share time with your dad on the soccer field sidelines. Your dad was a top notch “Soccer Dad”! He loved being at your practices, games and tournaments so he could be with you! Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom and family! Sincerely, Suzanne, Greg and Erin Smith (LF Manuel teammate)

Although we had not kept in touch through the years, the memories come flooding back from high school. The Epperly house was a second home to me like others. The basketball court out back, the chocolate chip cookies they always seemed to be making, the "epp-mobile," and his basement bedroom with a great collection of albums, and who could forget the bomb shelter. My condolences to the entire Epperly family.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Arron's passing. He had every attribute of a great man; a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a terrific pitcher for our baseball team at UMR and I was fortunate to get to know him well. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand during this difficult time. Our prayers are with you.

I was shocked to hear the news....it was like a bad dream. After speaking to Woodson and Hood, I realized I hadn't stayed in touch like I wished I would have. Sean and I reminisced about all the good times we had at Epps house, the classes we all had together, & the poker games in Funke's basement. What great memories I have of this great friend. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts to his family.

There are no words to convey the emptiness and loss. My heart goes out to everyone who is feeling this hurt. From seventh grade on, the Epperly home was mine, and many others, second home. The memories carry me through this black hole from sports, to music, poker games, his visits to Kirksville, his picking me up in Hannibal when my car broke down......with a full cooler......AND A DESIGNATED DRIVER.....I could type on "til the cows come home" because not one corner of my life doesn't have fond memories of Aaron. I always knew when he was stuck in traffic on his trips home from work as my cell phone would ring and we would catch up on the events of the past week or two. I treasure those traffic jams. Love you Brother.

Our condolences from the Chicago area - Aaron was a wonderful fellow and colleague at the Amoco Chemical Joliet, IL facility in the '90s. Although it has been many years since I last talked to Aaron, I recall his dedication and intelligence as a member of the site's engineering team.
