Just watched your drum solo buddy. Never forgotten, gone from this earth for a bit, but we still have your memories. Brings a smile to my face knowing you were able to put your hands on my wife's stomach to feel my daughter moving....just like your music, never stopping. A blip in time the few months we had, but they live on with us, all of us. She is now 14, so it is like a time capsule in many ways. The year you left us, she was born soon after....and every time I see us playing, it reminds me that for one moment, I only knew you and not my daughter, now that has changed, for I only know my daughter and not you anymore.

Twelve years? It's very hard to believe. While I only knew Alex for a year--and only for salon appointment visits--I still remember him often. He was kind, creative and a great listener--I do so much wish he was still here today.

It has been one year my friend. You have taught me much about the appreciation of life.
I think back to the day you felt the unborn baby on my wife's belly - and Abriana is now 6 months old. Seems like weird math, but it is true.
It is a blessing to know that you actually touched her, she touched you, and you touched all of us.

We are so grateful for Alex and Nate's friendship together in high school at Metropolitan. Alex was a wonderful friend, and we all enjoyed him so much.
One of Mike's memories is from Nate's 17th birthday party. We held it in the Holiday Inn Sports center. All Nate's friends, including Alex, stayed the night and played all the games, swam in the pool, etc. Their favorite activity, Mike said, was checking out/hanging out with the GIRLS soccer team that was staying there. That was a real thrill for a group of 17 year old boys! Their next favorite activity was eating, of course.
We have many happy memories of Alex and Nate, at Metropolitan, and just pal-ing around together.
Alex was such a sweetheart, and I'll never forget those BLUE, BLUE eyes. Also will never forget how Nate learned to eat mayonnaise with his french fries (a Dutch custom?) from Alex.
They were great pals at a time when I think they both needed each other. We will always remember Alex, and are praying God's comforting peace and strength for you both.

Alex Dixon was a catalyst for my social and psychological development during a new chapter in my life. He was a drummer and a comedian at the core. Alex is not gone. The Alex essence has shifted into another state of energy. He is now the boom of a drum, the mist that blankets morning lakes, and that *ZAP* of static electricity that runs up your fingertips.

I only knew you for a very short time, but I miss you already. I met Alex through my nephew who was a good friend of his. Words cannot express how we feel. To the parents of Alex.
I can not tell you how sad I was when I found out that Alex had passed away. I am a client of Salon Next and Alex was always such a kind young man. My teenage daughter was with me the last time I was in and he was so sweet to her. Her dad and I had gone through a divorce and he shared his thoughts with her about his experience with divorced parents. He also encouraged her with her love of music. I was so amazed that such a young man could be so kind and sweet to a 13 year old.
As a mother, I knew I had to tell you how he touched my life as well as my daughter's.
Alex had such a beautiful, kind soul that was apparent to me the first time I met him. He will be greatly missed.

Me and Alex used to be next door neighbors for many years when we were younger.I always enjoyed going over to his house and playing in his basement..but I moved and we lost touch for many years and I just recently found his myspace and was excited to get to talk to him again,but I was to late....Alex I love u and always did.You were a great friend and person. I feel lucky to have known Alex over the past year at Salon Next. We connected immediately. We shared a passion and love for animals. I was so excited when Alex adopted Jeffery for a companion. I am a client of the salon and Alex used to wash and dry my hair on each visit to the salon. Whenever I asked him how he was he always replied "O just peachy" and that is how I remember him. Always a smile , gentle, caring , enthusiastic and genuinely interested in what we discussed . I , too, am a client at the Salon which is where I met your wonderful son. He was one of those people on earth who immediatley touched your soul with his kindness and gentleness. From the first time I met him, I knew he was someone special. He loved his family, talking of you often and with great fondness.
As a parent, I can't even begin to imagine what you must be feeling. I do know that to have a raised the person Alex was, you must be pretty special, too. I am so,so sorry for your loss. The world is truly a lesser place without Alex in it.

Alex was a warm and gentle soul, and he will be missed greatly. I was privileged to meet Alex in his work at the salon where he always displayed a depth of kindness and genuine excitement about life. Alex was a great listener who always showed compassion, depth, and an optimism about the future. Alex spoke often of St. Louis and his love of music. Everytime I spoke with Alex, he talked about his parents, his visits to see them, and how much he was looking forward to seeing them again. Alex's family is very much in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry I did not get to know Alex sooner, he was a fine young man. He was teaching me music at 37, to his 23. In a few short months we grew together as a group and I cannot begin to tell you the positive impact he left on my life. He will be forever in my heart.

I'm so glad I had the chance to have a really great visit with Alex last Saturday when I was in the salon. I really wasn't needing color terribly much, but came on in anyway--and now I am so glad I did because I spent about 15 minutes in lively and interesting conversation with Alex. I always enjoyed our chats, and we covered a lot of ground last Saturday--drumming, music, exercise, my life, his life and his plans for his trip to St. Louis. No different from any of our other chats, but now so rich a memory. Alex was passionate, kind, positive and a great listener. I enjoyed hearing his take on things I threw his way. I will miss him very much, particularly on my early morning walks when he would pass by and stop and say hello on the way to work. I never forget someone as incredibly nice as Alex.

I met Alex when he became Gio's assistant. I told him the first time he worked on me that he had "star quality" and that he would go as far in life as he wanted. Such a magnificant person. Although Alex and I have lost touch over the last two years, I will always consider him one of my best friends. There was a time when my mother referred to Alex as another one of her kids. Alex had such a big heart, and he was always there for me when I needed a shoulder to cry on. We had some really good times and I will miss him dearly. I worked with Alex at the Salon for close to a year. He was always tapping on things, the counter, the dryer, his legs! We called it tapping, but he was drumming! He always had music playing inside his head! I will never hear a drum beat or an innocent taping on the counter without thinking of him and his incredible passion for all he did! I am a client at the salon and bring my children often. We met Alex and immediately my curious son began asking Alex questions about his hair, tatoos and everything in between. Alex was so kind to me and my children regardless of the neverending curiosity of my son, Miller. He taught him how to spike his hair and Miller told him that as soon as he was cutting, he would be his client! Alex definitley touched our lives. Peace to his parents. God is with you.

Alex was an incredibly wonderful person. You knew it from the moment that he looked you square in the eyes. We worked together every day over the past year.
