Dear Karen, Chris, and Billy,
I was so deeply saddened when my dad, Herb, called yesterday to tell me the news. There are no words to tell you how sorry I am, just as I am sure there are no words to even begin to describe how you feel at this moment. Alex was a wonderful man, and I have very sweet memories of him from my childhood up until the last time I saw him, about a year ago. I am thinking of you all, and if there is anything I can ever do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. I am terribly sorry for your loss. The world lost a very special man when we lost Alex. Truly one of a kind.
With love,
Nichole Sayers

Karen and boys,
We will always remember Alex, our neighbor, for his funny witty jokes and stories as we worked on the yard and sat on the front porch. Even though we knew he was very ill, he still always had a story for us or something unbeat or humerous. He will be missed greatly....Lower Grantley will not be the same!
