Alfred Mazzocchio Obituary

Mazzocchio, Alfred J. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Tues., Nov. 26, 2013. Survived by Mary Lou Mazzocchio (nee McConnell); dear son of the late Pietro and Josephine Mazzocchio; dear father and father-in-law of John A. (Christine), Robert B. and Peter J. Mazzocchio; dear brother of Rosalie Macaluso and the late Lena Brown and Joseph and Phyllis Mazzocchio; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend. Al served in the U.S. Army before and during WWII. He was an accomplished musician and was a former member of the Muny Opera (47 yrs) and the St. Louis Symphony. Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Ave., St. Louis on Sat. Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred or donations may be made to Mt. Grace Convent (Pink Sisters), 1438 E. Warne Ave., St. Louis, MO 63147. Arrangements by the ORTMANN STIPANOVICH Funeral Home

Mrs. Mazzocchio, John, Bob & Pete: Zack and myself had felt great sympathy in the lost of Mr. Mazzocchio. He bought so much joy and was such a gifted musician. We were honor to have knew him. He was such a great person. He will always live in our hearts and prayers. We are truly sorry for your lost.

John--I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I will never forget the kindness and patience he exhibited as I struggled with the cello and double bass. I was terrible, but he was always encouraging. God bless him.
