As we remember our loved one today let us not forget to remember all of our family members that have gone before us. They are all truly missed and remembered with the deepest of love from our hearts. Life is so short and our loved ones have proven that. God Bless all members of my family. Love always, Aunt Pat

Dear Angelo,
There are NO Words or Enough Words to tell you how much I am going to miss you, your laugh & your jokes. The days when I was in the family and when you got us the Silver Cloud Rolls Royce for our wedding and coming out to your shop and thinking with you. Well, I guess you're flying with the angels now but don't worry. I'll keep a close eye on Eric & Norma, my dear friend & ex-brother-in-law. You will always be like a brother to me. Please don't give God a hard time!
Rest now my dear friend.

Uncle Angelo,
I remember going swimming at Uncle Angelo's house with the big slide and the diving board. I thought he was rich because he was the only one around with an "inground pool"; I was right he was "rich" and he enjoyed his life to the fullest. One of my favorite
birthdays was when he,Aunt Norma and a friend,Paul Greene, flew me to Chicago. We ate at Geno's and carved our names on the wall...I will never forget it or his "laugh". Just to hear him laugh would make me laugh & smile. He took me to a Haunted House at Villa Del Cresta and Dracula came out & scared me. He just laughed & laughed. He loved to have a good time. When I joined Girl Scouts,he taught my whole troop how to Macreme at his shop. We made plant hangers. Not only was he an entrepraneur,he had a big heart, too. He had this pet white duck named Sam that when it was too big,I remember going with Aunt Norma & Uncle Angelo and releasing it at a pond in the park. He was truly a special person and I am going to miss him a lot. I am just glad I got to share my life with him. I am a better person because of it.
Love,
Your niece,
Denise

Angelo,
I remember your first corvette and how "cool" you seemed as an older cousin.
You always seemed so awesome---driving and dating long before the rest of us got out of braces and pre-teen awkwardness.
You'll be missed!
Love,
Madonna
PS I really remember how you wouldn't let us touch your corvette because of the paint job! Hope you are driving a hot car today!

A final Thank You for all the free beers, the time on the river, the perfect finish on the piper cub and the motor glider. As the head airport bum, you'll be greatly missed. Next Sunday we'll pretend you are with us at the airport.

Ang...
My brother,my mentor & my friend,
With your passing this week, I felt lost...something important was missing. Now who do I talk about family matters? My childhood is passing before me:
-The Charlie Brown Christmas trees.
-Playing Church (you were the
priest).
-Rolling the Community Newspapers &
throwing them from the back of the
station wagon.
-Screaming "Morning Globe Paper" on
Saturday nights & keeping our hands
warm with a Johnny handwarmer.
-Dinner conversations were about
cars; we all had our own color
cup,each was a different color
w/our initial on it from finger
nail polish.
-Writing letters to you when you
were in the Army.
-Ironing your shirts so perfectly.
-Working with you on Dad's case.
You always had a smile on your face.
The family chain is broken again on earth. A new link is added to the chain in Heaven. We'll all be together again...sooner than we think. The family holidays won't be the same without you. I will still talk to you...hope you hear me.
Love and miss you!
Your sister,
Laura

To My Friend,Ang,
A story Angelo told many times. We were on a trip at Oshkosh. We were relaxing in our motel room for the evening. I had a vodka tonic drink in my hand. I was sitting up sleeping at the time. Tomumlauf told Angelo to remove the drink before I spill it all over myself. Angelo did manage to carefully remove the drink.I finally woke up and Angelo said,"Hey,Steve, your drink is on the table".I looked at it, said,"Thanks"! Drank it and promptly went back to sleep.

Sgroi Family:
I met Angelo in 1989 when I brought my Grumman Tiger aircraft to him to discuss repainting it. Over a period of weeks we haggled, we argued, we disagreed on his fee, we disagreed on the color, we cussed, we quit, we laughed, we had a beer, we became friends, then we started all over again. By May we had come together on color, design, and price, and Angelo finished up the most unique and beautiful paint job and refurbishing ever seen on a Grumman Tiger. Three weeks later I flew that airplane to Cable, Wisconsin to the AYA convention (Worldwide Grumman Owners Association). After three days of several hundred owners and judges viewing, commenting, comparing, voting, and deciding, my 2121T Tiger aircraft with Angelo's superb paint job was awarded top honors for "Best Custom Paint Job" and overall "Best In Show". Following that the airplane was featured in the January 1992 issue of PRIVATE PILOT magazine with photos and article. Both myself and Angelo were very proud of that and I believe he kept that article pinned to his office wall for quite some time. It was one of the most interesting, fun, and enjoyable experiences of my life, and it was Angelo who made it all happen. He was a very unique, fun, and talented fellow whom anyone who ever met him will never be likely to forget! He will be sorely missed.

Dear Norma and Eric,
When our family moved into the neighborhood, 18+ years ago, we had the pleasure of getting to know Angelo, Norma, and Eric. We have enjoyed living next door to them and have come to depend on them for several reasons. Angelo became a substitute Grandpa to our two youngest girls, Victoria and Mia. He always welcomed them over to talk to his bird, Jocko and "love on" whatever dogs may be living in their house at the time. Their best memories are with Tiffie and Annie. Oh, how they loved spending time with him and Norma!! Angelo was also so generous with their pool, allowing our girls to come and swim . Just recently, he noticed that our 7 yr. old's bike was making noise, so he fixed it right then and there. He will be so missed!
Norma, we will always be available for you and the girls will still come and spend time with you. May the Lord comfort and bless you and Eric during this time.

Dear Sgroi Family,
Two and a half years ago I moved to Saint Louis from Milwaukee to take a new job. I didn't know anyone, didn't know where anything was, and didn't have a family with me to help me learn the area. Soon I was lonely, bored and ready to move home.
On an impulse, and to fill a childhood dream, I decided to buy and learn to fly a small airplane. It needed fixing up and someone at St. Charles suggested I go see Angelo.
Little did I know that walking into Angelo's office on that day would change everything about my move, and that Angelo would soon become and be my best friend in this area.
Over and over, countless times, as i worked with Angelo and visited my aircraft, I watched Angelo help anyone with anything that was asked. He was always kind, generous, extremely knowledgable and did it all with a smile.
I watched Angelo use his own time and money to help others more than I can count, making him in so many ways a great man. As a result, people gravitated toward him. They too were/are really good people which changed my whole view of this area and made the move a good one.
Angelo made a difference in my life that went far beyond fixing up my plane and he will be sorely missed. I will never forget knowing him.

Uncle Angelo was very special to me. He gave me one of my most memorable birthdays ever by flying me to Chicago for a weekend, where we had Genos pizza and carved our initials in the wall. He always enjoyed every moment and I will miss him and his "laugh" greatly.

I received horrible news when I learned my best friend going back to early childhood, Angelo Sgroi unexpectedly passed. Before the era of supermarkets, his family owned the tiny local grocery store in the Jennings, Mo. neighborhood where we grew up. Barely more than toddlers, we sometimes played in that little store’s back room. As preteens, we attended cub scout meetings in his home. As we grew up, Angelo bought his first car. He kept that old Chevy spotless and we sometimes double dated in it. Then Viet Nam raged and for a time we found ourselves separated by military service. It was while he was in the service that Angelo earned his pilot’s license. Upon returning home, Angelo and I effortlessly picked up life where we left off a few years earlier. He bought a Corvette. Driving around in it one day, I met my wife of 36 years, Linda. Angelo and I both loved flying and shared many aerial adventures together. Through people he knew, Angelo helped make it possible for me to fulfill my own dreams. He traveled to a nearby airport to bear witness on the day I won my own pilot’s license. Upon landing, I saw him standing there waiting to congratulate me. He had that full Angelo grin on his face. I shall never forget it. In 1984, we made our first of many trips to Oshkosh together. Sometimes we drove up there, sometimes we flew. Pilots understand the attraction. He had a Piper airplane and on more than one occasion, found ourselves grounded at one small airport or another, forced down because of bad weather. Oh, the stories I could tell! A talented aircraft painter, it was Angelo who found and refurbished my first airplane, a little red Cessna. Eventually, his devoted son Eric took some of his very own flying lessons in it. Like any friendship spanning decades, we had our highs and our lows. We drifted apart these past few years over some trivial matter but Angelo was never far from my thoughts. No matter. A part of me was suddenly and forever wrenched away and I shall dearly miss my oldest and dearest friend, Angelo Sgroi. Farewell Ang.
