Arthur Sales Obituary
Preceded in death by his parents, Ciriaco and Olympia, and his siblings, Pacita, Ester, Vicente, and Mario.
Dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, neighbor, friend.
Art was born on September 12, 1943 in Lasam, Cagayan, Philippines and studied law at University of the East in the city of Manila. He arrived with his wife, Carol Joy, in the United States on January 26, 1971, where they became proud citizens. Art became a highly respected Senior Litigation Specialist in the insurance sector. He was hired by MFA Mutual Insurance Company as a Claims Adjuster to handle claims in Western Illinois. He became a Technical Claims Examiner at CNA Insurance to handle architects and engineers lawsuits, as well as medical malpractice. Thereafter, Art was recruited to lead as a Staff Claims Examiner at Allstate, where he dedicated 30 years of his expertise. Art was proud to have worked in the courthouse everyday and maintained friendships with his attorney colleagues throughout the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
Everything Art did was for his family and the life around them. He loved driving his daughters to Academy of the Sacred Heart, instilling in them respect, negotiation strategies, and diplomacy. He loved taking care of his grandchildren and attending their extra-curricular activities. He cherished the weekends to mow his lawn and connect with his neighbors.
Most of all, Art loved to sing. He mastered karaoke to the tunes of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Art was a long-time Board Member of the Filipino American Association of Missouri and relished attending the organization's celebrations with Carol Joy, never missing the opportunity to perform on the microphone.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Hutchens-Stygar, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles, MO 63304. Mass will be held on Friday, September 6 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph, 1355 Motherhead Road, Cottleville, MO 63304.
