Barbara Dilly Obituary
March 1, 1940 - October 3, 2025
Barbara A. Dilly, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, entered eternal rest on October 3, 2025, at the age of 85. Barb was born on March 1, 1940, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Thomas J. and Margaret Brennan (nee Jarvis).
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband, Darrell E. Dilly; two cherished grandsons, Christopher and Shawn; and her dear cousin, Jimmy Mueller.
She is lovingly survived by her children Kelly Leinert, Kim Russo (Johnny), Kevin Dilly, Carol Long (Tim), Pam Hitchcock (Travis), Tom Dilly, and Margie VanLiere (Derek). Barbara's legacy continues through her many grandchildren - Michael, Gregory, Patrick, Stephen, Bridget, George, Joseph, Steven, Jessica, Lizzy, Tamara, Sophia, Kevin, Lauren, Shannon, Weston, Nate, Nicole, Natalie, Cody, Eve, Keegan, Alex, Gavin, and Brenna - as well as her 25 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Caputa, and countless relatives and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
A proud graduate of Rosati-Kain High School and Fontbonne University, Barbara lived a life guided by faith, family, and kindness. She married the love of her life, Darrell, on November 14, 1959, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and devotion.
Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures - spending time with her friends and family, attending daily Mass, gathering with her prayer groups, and browsing through thrift stores for hidden treasures. Her warmth, smile, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her.
Barbara's presence will be deeply missed, but her love and spirit will continue to shine brightly through the generations she so deeply cherished.
A Visitation will be held at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, located at 6464 Chippewa Street, St. Louis, MO 63109, on October 15, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Recitation of the Rosary will occur at the same location on October 15, 2025, at 5:30 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 6596 Smiley Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139, on October 16, 2025, at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125, on October 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm.

Barb always had a smile whenever we saw her, as did Darrell. Their life of faith radiated kindness and warmth to so many people and now may Barb live in the warmth of eternal life as she joins Jesus and her love Darrell. We were blessed to have them as friends and to know their children.
