Brad Warner Obituary

Warner, Brad W.

July 1, 1958 - April 4, 2025

Dr. Brad Warner, a visionary pediatric surgeon, beloved husband, devoted father, and gifted mentor, left behind an extraordinary legacy of healing, teaching, and kindness.

Born in North Dakota and raised with humble roots alongside his siblings Stacey, Elli, and Shawn, Brad was instilled early on with values of hard work, service, and compassion through his parents. Inspired by a deep love of music passed down by his father, he brought creativity and heart to every part of his life. He had a lifelong passion for landscape photography, through which he could share his appreciation for the beauty of nature and life. With an inquisitive spirit and determination, he began his medical journey at UMKC's six-year program and continued with general surgery training at the University of Cincinnati. Brad went on to serve as surgeon-in-chief at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Through his leadership, he built world-class surgical programs and mentored countless students and residents, many of whom credit him with their own careers in medicine. Even more, he enriched and saved countless lives, all while radiating kindness, warmth, and a larger-than-life humor that brought people together and made everyone feel seen and valued.

But Brad's greatest pride and deepest love was his family. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Barbara Warner, with whom he shared a lifelong partnership. Despite the demands of medicine, he and Barb created a home full of laughter, compassion, and teamwork. Together, they raised two daughters, Lauren and Emily, and welcomed one grandchild.

Brad Warner was, simply put, a miracle in the lives of many. His truest legacy lives in thousands of lives, he touched-patients, students, friends, and family who will forever carry his memory forward.

A Celebration of Brad's Life will take place in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, information will be forthcoming regarding the continuation of his legacy in surgical research and mentorship at boppchapel.com.
