Brett Weinman Obituary

Weinman, Brett Jay

April 22, 1966 - October 15, 2025

Brett Jay Weinman of Chesterfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Town & Country on October 15, 2025, at the age of 59.

Born April 22, 1966, in Saint Louis and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Brett attended Southwestern Educational Society and later went on to become the founder and CEO of Wear-Tech, where his sharp instincts and bold style built a reputation as big as his personality.

Brett lived life like he drove his high-performance vehicles, at full throttle... the people in his life, like the passengers in his cars, were both thrilled and somewhat concerned. He loved fine art, precious metals, first-class seating, fast cars, powerful guns, Cubano sandwiches, skydiving, rice and beans, Fox News, and Donald J. Trump.

He was a world traveler with a taste for the extraordinary-having journeyed to both the North and South Poles-and a connoisseur who never met a plate of deli food he couldn't critique, though he never dared to criticize a server in a restaurant, being absolutely adamant it would result in body fluids finding their way into his garlic mashed potatoes. His booming laugh, irresistibly inappropriate humor, devotion to his family, and unfiltered opinions filled every room; he was, by any measure, a force of nature.

Brett was a proud father to his children Emily Michelle Weinman, Elijah Jay Weinman, and Alexandra Rose Weinman, and he shared an enduring bond of friendship and gratitude with his former wife and the mother of his children, Stephanie Sue Weinman, who became his devoted caretaker during his final days. He was also an equally proud dad to his dogs Bodo, Honey, Kali, Zali, and Dr. Fauci.

He was the son of the late Kathy Joel Steve and Earl Weinman; brother of Joel Jay Weinman, Jenifer Jo Weinman, and Chad Jay Weinman; and uncle to Autumn Jade Mergel. He was the grandson of mentor Francis Joel Novoson, Lucille Dorothy Novoson, Meyer Weinman, and Bertha Weinman; stepson to Juanita Ann Weinman; and stepbrother to Robert Irving Brin.

Brett was a nephew to the late Alvin Weinman, the late Marcella Ann Weinman, the late Michael Joel Novoson, the late Sandra Toby Novoson, Cary Weinman, and Dianne Lynn Weinman.

He is survived by beloved cousins Traci Lynn Novoson, Marc Joel Novoson, Shari Suzanne Weinman, Cindy Beth Breece, Lisa Ann Butts, Jason Perry Weinman, Sember Lee Laubin, and Zachary Scott Weinman; and by his cherished godsons Mitchell Joel Novoson and Mason Joel Novoson. He was preceded in death by his cousin Dana Alyse Novoson.

Brett's faith journey took him from his Jewish roots to Christianity later in life-a testament to his constant search for meaning and truth.

He leaves behind laughter, stories, and cautionary advice: "Say it, don't spray it," and "What are you doing? Eat that over the sink."

Many will remember him like the not-so-subtle roar of a Queen album: impossible to ignore, relentlessly entertaining, and missed the moment the noise stops.

Brett's family will lay him to rest privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory. Contributions may be made online at woundedwarriorproject.org or by mail to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

Yesterday

I am so sorry to hear of Brett's passing. He was so fun and full of life. I got to know Brett and all of his family as their private banker at US Bank years ago. Brett and I remained in contact and I enjoyed his friendship over these years. He was so proud of Emily, Eli and Alex as he beamed that big smile in every Facebook post with them proudly sharing their special times together. I enjoyed seeing them and sharing in his joy. I am so sorry for you all and will lift up in prayer. We will all miss Brett forever. My love and sympathy to all of you. Sincerely, Gary Vaupel
