Bruce Donton Obituary

Donton, Bruce of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the age of 69. Loving husband of Cathy Donton (nee: Rupp) ; beloved son of the late Julian and Josephine Donton; devoted father of Christine (Richard) Koelling, Angie (Matthew) McDonough, and Craig (Nanette) Donton; cherished grandfather of Nick, Jamie, Brendan, Connor, Alyssa, and Kaitlyn; dear brother of Camille (Bill) Keck, Yvonne (Bill) Parisho and brother-in-law of Carol Donton. Bruce is also survived by many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Victor Donton and sister Nancy Stribling. Bruce graduated from Laboure High School in 1963, where he met his wife Cathy. They married in 1966. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Loretto and was instrumental in the furnishing of the interior with his carpentry and talent. Bruce served as the Soccer Coordinator there for many years, coaching his own children's teams as well. Bruce was a member of Carpenters Local 47 for 49 years. He enjoyed biking and camping, but was mostly devoted to family and his faith. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and a fan of any sport his kids and grandkids played. Bruce was very giving of his time and talents and helping many throughout his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services: The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO where visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 324 South Third Street, St. Charles, MO. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul at St. Peter Catholic Church or Donor's Choice. Visit Baue.com.

He was a big part of the childhood of a lot of young men from our OLL era, serving as a coach, fan, and overall mentor to many of us. He always had a smile, kind word, or inside joke to share, which brightened the days of many people. The scope of his impact indicates how much he will be missed!
