Gloyd, Carola C.
June 1, 1972 - January 31, 2024. Carola Carin Gloyd, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend was taken from us too soon on January 31, 2024 after a life well lived. She was born on June 1, 1972 to Marilyn and Wolfgang Webern. Carola is survived by her husband of 28 years, Chester Gloyd; sons Carter Gloyd and Chandler Gloyd (Cierra); an unborn grandson on the way; sister Kaethe Grabenhofer (Tim); and countless beloved friends and family members.
Carola was full of passion, energy and style and brought those qualities to her family, friends and the community throughout her life. While most of her time was spent organizing, guiding and supporting her family, she had many additional passions that included support for the Kirkwood PTO, the Missouri Botanical Garden, and fighting cancer through her non-profit Warriors Against Melanoma.
After moving to St Louis with her family as a child, Carola made many lifelong friends at Lutheran North High School and Luther College in Decorah Iowa. Carola cared deeply for the large group of friends that she connected with at school and in the community, and gave those many beloved friends and family members what they required emotionally when they needed it most.
