Doc Norland, as we called him, continued to care for others even at 90 years old. He took good care of my 94 year old father Don Lindvall who lived nearby him until he passed in late May. You could find them swapping National Geographic magazines, catching the church livestream or sitting out on the sunny patio together. He called my Dad a stubborn Norwegian until the end. We were blessed to have gotten to know him.

So sorry to read this. Dr Norland was my gastroenterologist and diagnosed my life/long problems with Celiac Disease in 1969. Eventually he assumed all my medical care. We had a great relationship and we took his advice about DePauw University where his son Hans went. Our daughter Hilary graduated from there in 1991. Our condolences go to the family and especially Hans whom I met when judging the Monsanto/Post Dispatch Science Fair.

So sad we lost our dear family friend, Chuck. Our parents met in Chicago at med school and quickly became lifelong friends. I have so many fond memories of visiting the Norlands in St. Louis, Chuck was so well read, witty and funny, enjoyed life and helping others, and had a great laugh. He was interested in what you had to say and treated everyone with respect. I'm so glad he had a long full life and was a terrific mentor to his kids and grandkids. After Ingrid passed, he went out of his way to stop in Colorado once to see me, and again just to take my wife and I out to dinner. My heart goes out to all of his family. We will truly miss you Chuck!
