Carlton, Colleen Michele
(nee Mungavin), passed away Dec. 7, 2020, at home in Kirkwood, MO, of natural causes. She was born in Centerville, IL on April 16, 1970.
She is preceded in death by her father, Patrick Joseph Mungavin and uncle, Nicholas Knowles.
She is survived by her children, Patrick Jameson (PJ) Carlton and Poppy Quinn Carlton, her mother, Kathleen Hagedorn and step-father, Gary Hagedorn, sister, Kari Hagedorn and brother, Clay Hagedorn; aunt Shirley Knowles and cousins, Roger Knowles, Nicki Lynn Ballew, and Patrick Knowles; aunt and uncle Dorothy and Russell Freitag; and many friends and other relatives.
Colleen was married to Rob Carlton from 1997 to 2015.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. In her job at Grand Center, Colleen was charged with creating events to showcase the arts district. The most notable was the St. Louis Visionary Awards founded in 2002 and continues honoring women in the arts today. Colleen co-created an events and public relations firm, Carlton-Werremeyer and worked with clients including the Saint Louis Science Center, Jazz St. Louis, the Contemporary Art Museum, Grace Hill and many others. Colleen retired in 2006 to become a homemaker.
Services: A private service will be at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, cremation will follow. Contributions in her memory may be made to your favorite charity or Colleen's favorite Charities: St. Louis Food Outreach, Circus Flora, and Adoptive Care Coalition.
