Cora Walker Obituary

Walker, Cora Faith

Cora Faith (Drew) Walker, 37, of Ferguson, MO, transitioned on Friday, March 11, 2022.

Walker served in the Missouri House of Representatives, elected to her first term in November 2016. Most recently, Ms. Walker served as the Chief Policy Officer for the St. Louis County Executive.

Cora dedicated her life's work to public service, social justice, women's reproductive rights, and health equity access. She was an ardent advocate for women, children, and the underserved throughout Ferguson, the state of Missouri, and the world. Always strident and steadfast in her devotion to meet the most pressing needs of her community, she achieved so much because she put service to others before self. Walker ardently advocated and stood in solidarity with victims of sexual assault and sexual violence. She devoted countless hours to supporting victims as they sought healing and justice. Despite these accolades bestowed on her, she valued her relationship with her husband, parents, siblings, college friends, and professional colleagues.

Cora Faith is lovingly remembered by her husband, Tim Walker, and fur babies, Bena, Luna, and Mr. Mowgli and (late) Rocket, Benny, and Micki; parents, Edward and Robyn; siblings, (late) Kevin, Whitaker Charles Edward Drew (late Bridgett), Zenova Poynter (Douglas), (late) Turon Shegog, Tommy Harris, Ako Drew (Mimi), Terrez Drew, Chaz Drew, John Drew, Dave Walker (Jami), Adrian Walker(Angie), Justin Walker, Kelly Rose Walker, and (late) Shannon Walker. In-laws, Tamara Walker; grandparents, Faye Pettus and Eugene Hughley; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. Cora Faith Walker's enduring legacy continues to be embodied through the life and service of those she loved and those who loved and knew her.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests donations to the following organizations that Cora Faith held closest in her heart and work:

- Nurses for Newborns

- JAMAA Birth Village

- Pro Choice Missouri

- Veterans Community Project- St. Louis
