Dear Popo,

I miss you so very much. I especially miss your voice today. It was so comforting to be with you and to hear your voice when chatting with you on the phone. It comforts me to know that you are still listening.

Thank you for being the best and most gentle father I ever could have had in my life.

I love you,

Francie

Grandpa... Through hard times I thought of you often. It's amazing what you overcame, and how fulfilling your life was. I can only hope to accomplish what you did one day. We will always love and miss you.

October 7, 2011

Dear Dad,

I will think of you often but mostly when I'm experiencing the things you loved so much and taught me to appreciate: winter storms, fall leaves, Monet's waterlilies, Shaw's Garden, piano music, speaking French, pecan pie, and so many other wonderful things in this life. Thanks so much for giving us life, for loving us and for taking care of us. Keep in touch with us... Love you always, Annette

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Chopin. He was such a positive influence in my life growing up in our neighborhood. I was amazed at his kindness and easy-going manner, his talent, his sense of humor, and his love of his family. When my father passed in 2007, I was so comforted to see him and Mrs. Chopin at the wake, people who were like parents to me during my "formative years". Rest in peace, Mr. Chopin. You will be thought of with love and all the wonderful memories you made for me and others.

I'm so terribly sorry. My condolences to Susie, Annette, and the entire Chopin family.

My Uncle Dave was a very special, loving, fun man. When I was little, he and I had a grand time as he showed me the city of St. Louis, where I was born. He put up with my mischievous behavior. We always laughed. We laughed a lot again last year, the last time I saw him. He and my husband, Farris, hit it off as well. We are both sad that he is gone. Heaven is a better place with Uncle Dave there. It's our world that is so much poorer. Love, Ronni

Susie, Gerri & Family, You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your Dad. When we were younger, I always thought it must have been so much fun to grow up in your family because you all obviously loved your parents so much and there was always so much going on. That didn't stop when all of you left home and while I know your Dad lived life to its fullest, I can't imagine how losing him must feel. I will keep all of you in my prayers, and know that I'm here for you.
