We were so lucky to have the Fitzgeralds as neighbors growing up. My first memory of Mr. Fitz was when I was about 5 years old. We somehow managed to lock ourselves out of the house. It was late, but he let us use his ladder so I could climb in through the kitchen window since I was so small. I went through the window, into the sink and then jumped down onto the floor to let my family in the back door. Great family, great neighbors, those Fitzgeralds.

We are so deeply saddened to hear of your great loss, and our hearts and prayers go out to each of you and your families. Mr. Fitz will forever live in my memories...out in the backyard on Belcroft, throwing horseshoes. How appropriate for another St. Pat to join the heavens tomorrow.

Barb, David, Dan and Susan...we are all very saddened by the loss of such a caring and kind man. My brothers and I can remember many fun times we all shared together. Uncle Dave has always been a source of big hugs, smiles, warmth, and great wit. We will always have the love he shared and will hold his influence close to our hearts as an example of dedication and passion for family. He was a big teddy bear who made everyone feel loved and welcomed! We send our love and thoughts of healing to Aunt Barbara, David, Danny, and Susan and all of the rest of the family. We wish we could be there with all of you at this difficult time and will be sure to tip our glasses in honor of Uncle Dave- the great man that inspired so much love on St. Patrick's Day.

Pat always greeted with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. You could not help but love this man whose first priority in life was his wife and family. There is now an empty place that no one else can fill and he will be achingly missed by all. We are so saddened that his destiny was to leave so soon.
