Dave passed peacefully on January 8th, 2025. He was at home, surrounded by family and covered in prayer. Dave was masterful at entertaining his grand and great-grandchildren, always able to make them smile and laugh at every family gathering. He was a devoted and loving spouse, who cared deeply for his family.
Having been a former soccer coach for an international traveling team, and a passionate advocate for the growth of organized soccer in St. Louis, Dave became a Commissioner and Board Member of the St. Louis Soccer Park, helping take it from conception to a fully constructed state-of-the-art sports complex. Dave loved playing baseball, and at one time played on five softball teams and a soccer team!
Dave is an alumnus of the Christian Brothers College, class of 1956. He was a dedicated employee of the St. Louis Post Dispatch for 33 years, playing an important role in ushering-in computerized production. In the two decades plus following his retirement, Dave competed in over 19 marathons, 50 half-marathons, and countless local races. Dave loved being a regular part of the Senior Olympics, winning many competitions and he worked hard to stay in shape.
Dave had a very strong faith and attended mass early every day after his morning run. Dave was an adoring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loyal friend, who absolutely treasured going for early morning runs and long fitness walks in Forest Park.
