Donald Correll Obituary

Correll, Donald Stewart passed away Saturday, November 24 at the age of 92. Cherished husband of the late Barbara Correll, he is survived by his children, Ken (Laura) Correll, Kay (Stu) Pickens, Cheri (Karl) Hagnauer, his beloved grandchildren, and his dear niece/ caretaker. Don grew up in Adair, Iowa. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, then completed his master's degree in engineering. He subsequently moved to St. Louis, and met and married the love of his life. He started Correll Engineering Company in 1954. He and Barb enjoyed 62 years of marriage, traveling the world and gathering friends along the way, but his favorite place was at home (or the lake) with his wife, children and grandchildren. As a lifelong member of the Rotary Club, he enjoyed quiet philanthropy that benefited many. Don will be remembered as a gentle but strong man with a keen intellect and great sense of humor, our patriarch who enjoyed dishing out sage advice and corny jokes in equal measure. Services: A private family service was held Friday, November 30. Donations to honor Don may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. www.valhallafunerals.net
