Aunt Ella was special. She loved on me like a daughter. She always made me feel special. She was kind, generous and always friendly. She was devoted to my mother and supported her in many ways. She was also close to my Dad and took things in stride. She will be missed.

My dear sweet Aunt Ella, I will always treasure the visits we had at your home off of Strecker, Gambrill Gardens, Chesterfield, and lastly St. Andrews. I was always met with a smile, a positive attitude and an invitation to “visit anytime”. You will be greatly missed and I have comfort knowing that you are with loved ones now in heaven including Uncle Frank, Grandma & Grandpa Adam and your big brother Erv!
Love you always Aunt Ella!

Ella-Bella, thank you for being YOU. I'm sorry I don't remember being "your baby", not just your cousin and goddaughter, until Michael came along. I do love the photos of you, Frank, and me during that time, though. I cherish the baptismal gown and accessories you knitted for our boys, as well as the hats, scarves, and headband. I know everything was knitted with love. You will be sorely missed, but I am happy you are reunited with Frank, Tante, Uncle, and Erv (not to mention the rest of the clan).

Miss Eleanor was a joy to me - a co-conspirator in such suburban hijinks as turtle moving, waving at deer, and over-nourishing birds. She taught me that silvering ladies can learn to dance ( move the rug}, that sprinkler systems make rainbows, and you can't shoo a noisy truck. Ella snack cakes are not just for breakfast anymore. I will cherish our times, miss you, and try not to complain "because who wants to hear it". Thank you to the extended Schmuidt family for sharing your beautiful mom with us. Ms. P

Godspeed on your journey, Aunt Ella. I have fond memories living next door as a child. Always kind words, and maybe the occasional sideways glance when getting into mischief playing with Gerry around the lake or in the basement. She may have provided a bit of "advice" but never did I hear a cross word. I remember that summertime lunches of fresh made sandwiches and cold Kool-Aid in the kitchen were a treat and always included guidance and kindness. Her home was a home away from home for me...and conveniently, just next door. Every encounter later in life was full of laughs, stories, and always kind words. What a blessing to have enjoyed such a long life so full of close family.

Dear mom, There are no words to describe how grateful I am to have been your son. The love, guidance and patience you gave me over the past 65 years is truly amazing. You always encouraged me to do my best and you were there when I needed you the most. I am so proud of the example you set forth for everyone in our family. You will be sorely missed, but I know you are with dad, grandma, grandpa, your brother Erv and all those we have lost in the past. It was very hard to say goodbye the other night, but I know you are out of pain and finally at peace. I will probably still need to lean on you in the future for advice. You are the strongest woman I ever met in my life. I will continue to feed the deer like you always did. I have never been able to pet them yet like you did, but maybe someday I can. I love you dearly and always will. Bye for now mom!!!
