Ernie Lovelady Obituary

Lovelady, Ernie

October 26, 1938 - February 22, 2025

The real, true Superman left this Earth on February 22, 2025. Ernie Lovelady was born in Highland, Kansas on October 26, 1938 to Ernest Jesse Lovelady Sr. and Elinor Lovelady. He graduated from Kansas University in 1961. He was greeted in heaven by the love of his life, Reva Lou, whom he married on October 17, 1980 and remained madly in love with her until her untimely death on December 8, 2023.

He is survived by his children Stephen L. Craig and his wife Wendy and sons Hunter Craig and Ryder Craig; His daughter Penny Lovelady-VanVuren and husband Russel Van Vuren; daughter Reva Nicole Lovelady and sons Jesse and Dakota.

He was a man of immense honor, integrity and grace. The most important things to him were family friends and fellowship.

He was amazingly proud of his grandsons and their many talents and accomplishments. Mainly, their integrity and honor and love for family.

How very lucky we were to know him, be inspired by him and loved by him. He believed in us every second of every day. When times were tough, he would say "the sun will come up again and it will be a new day, a new chance and a fresh start", and it did every time. He was always there for us no matter the reason, time or place…Always! He should have been a cowboy.

Ernie was an incredible mentor, supporter, and role model to me and I will always appreciate the great contributions he made to Emerson as a Business Leader.
