Florence was born on her family farm in Perryville, MO on July 5, 1929. She courageously moved to St. Louis with her best friend after graduating high school in 1947. In 1951, she met her future husband Duke at a dance. Duke proposed via letter during his time serving as a Marine Staff Sergeant in Korea. During their 56 years of marriage, they moved nearly twenty times, ultimately moving back to their favorite city, St. Louis. Florence and Duke effortlessly made lifelong friends in each new place they called home. Florence loved to laugh with friends and family, to entertain and cook for others, and to share her love of family history. Florence was loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
