Frank Putz Obituary

Putz, Frank L., Jr. 65 of Glen Carbon passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Relias Bonne Eau in Edwardsville. Frank was born on March 23, 1948 in East St. Louis, IL. He was an Environmental Biologist for Ameren Missouri for 35 years until his retirement in 2009. Frank was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edwardsville. He played football for the Saluki's at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he graduated in 1970. He later went on to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville earning a Masters Degree in 1972. Frank loved nature and had a special affection for fishing and morel mushroom hunting. He will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and the many special times spent together. He is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Joan M. (Belcher) Putz, whom he married on April 17, 1982; sons, Luke and wife (Laura Lengyel) of Edwardsville, IL, John Putz of Glen Carbon, IL; mother, Mary Catherine (Reichardt) Putz of Glen Carbon; brothers, Mike and (Sharon) Putz of Troy, IL, Steve and (Denise) Putz of Troy, IL; sisters, Cathy and (Denny) Alvarez of St. Charles, MO, Susan and (Joe) Martinez of Troy, IL; brother-in-law, Tom Belcher; sisters-in-law, Kay Bonastia, Margaret Poirrier, Barb Daves; several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, friends and fishing buddies. He was preceded in death by his father; Frank L. Putz Sr.; sister-inlaw, Nina Belcher; brother-in-law, Frank Bonastia. Services: Friends may call on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. In celebration of his life services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1802 Madison Ave. Edwardsville, IL with Fr. Daniel Bergbower officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to masses or SIUE Foundation (SIUE Gardens), Campus Box 1082, Edwardsville, IL 620261082.
