So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. He delivered me in January of 1968, and I couldn't have ever asked for a better, kinder doctor.

Barbara,
I'm so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. It isn't easy yet you have many great memories to remember him by. I'm sorry I could not come down to see you. If you are ever in St Louis you know you always have home to come to. Praying for you and the family that the Lord will give you a comfort and peace beyond all understanding. God Bless. Love you, Barbara

Barbara and Family,
It is with deep regret that we learn of your Dad's passing. He was our friend as well as our physician. A good man.

David and Family,
Sounds like your Dad was one of a kind, much like my own. I wish I'd had the pleasure of meeting him. I taught at a mental institution early in my career, and I had a client from Crestwood. I'll always remember that individual smiling broadly upon telling me his doctor was Dr. Funke. Take Care.

Dr Funke brought me into this world 45 years ago and has been a very important part of my family's life as a doctor and a friend. I have many fond memories of going to his office, he was a very gentle soul and will be missed. My prayers go out to his family, especially David, Angela, their son Michael, and their daughters. Thanks for sharing him.

My grandfather was Alfred Richard Funke, M.D. He was married to Sophie Blell. Could there be a relationship there? Thank you for any info you can pass along.

He was a treasure for our community!! Such a calm and gentle man. I remember his busy office, his nurses, and the house calls if we were really too sick to leave home. Thanks to him for keeping the Riley family well and for being a wonderful and caring neighbor too.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. May you find comfort from God during this difficult time.

Dr. Funke brought both my children into this world and was always so kind and thoughtful. He was filled with compassion and caring for others. He cared for my mother many years. His smile at Crestwood Christian Church has been missed in the last few years. May you find comfort in knowing he is now at peace with Louise. You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you say your final farewells. He was so proud of each of you and your accomplishments. Thinking of you, Bessie Darland Klein

Harold and Louise were both such good friends over the years. He was so much more than my physician. We had good times fishing and celebrating life. My thoughts are with each of you. Jules Klein
