Thank you for sharing your husband, father, grandfather and brother with the people of Kirkwood. We have been blessed by his leadership, friendship and love. I have not known a Kirkwood without Herb Jones leading at some level. He will be missed for not only what he did for this comminity but also who he was, a great person. He will be fondly remembered. My thoughts and prayers go out to he family at this time of loss.

Herb was a great ambassador for any organization he was associated with. As former President of St Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood, Herb was an excellent board member and worked tirelessly to make a difference. The Red Pinto, Baby! Stuffing flyers for Herb for Council and all the great times with my dear friend Becky, Laurie and Claudia next door and the whole fun crowd from back on Geyer Road and Forest Glen. Herb and Mary even endured many a raucous slumber party and sleep over for "The Batshima Sisters" graciously and with a smile on their face. Herb loved his family, the town town of Kirkwood, Mo, everything about it, everyone in it, and enjoyed all his years of hard work and dedication to it. Kudo's to you Mr Jones, you truly had a life well lived!!!!!
My heart goes out to the entire Jones family.

Herb and I served together in the 1980's as Mayors of our respective towns, Kirkwood and Clayton. He was truly a kinder gentler politician and his influence spread far beyond Kirkwood. Hugh Scott

During the time that I served on the Florissant City Council as President of the St. Louis County Municipal League, I came to know and respect Herb. In his soft-spoken way, he was able to lead. He was a role model for how to disagree without being disagreeable in an atmosphere - although less so then than now, fortunately - where we needed to engage in meaningful and productive dialog. His voice was the voice of reason and respect. Our lives are better because of who he was and what he did. He was clearly a good man and a very special public servant.
