Irvin Carroll Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and cherished friend to all who knew him.

Irvin Joseph Carroll, fondly known as 'Buzz', passed away peacefully at home on August 25th surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Brentwood, Missouri, Buzz was the son of Charles and Gertrude Carroll and younger brother to sisters Irene, Ruth, Helen and Loretta.

After graduating from Brentwood High School, Buzz enlisted in the United States Marine Corps proudly serving his country in the Korean War. Upon his return from service, Buzz married the love of his life, Arlene Frances Baker (Lolly), on December 27, 1951.

Buzz's greatest joy was undoubtedly the love he shared over 74 years of marriage with Lolly. They were blessed with two children--- Mark Thomas Carroll and Elizabeth Morgan (Carroll) Levy and two grandchildren, Morgan and Michael Levy. Together, they shared a family life filled with true love, profound pride and deep gratitude.

Buzz is survived by his devoted wife, Arlene Carroll; daughter, Elizabeth Levy; son-in-law, Phillip Levy; grandchildren Morgan and Michael Levy; daughter-in-law, Cindy Carroll and niece, Karen Kintz and her family.

Buzz was preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark Carroll; parents, Charles and Gertrude; four sisters; and nephew, Bill Sadlier.

His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and all who knew him, a testament to a life of honor, courage, and commitment.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on September 2nd at Schrader Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road, Ballwin, MO 63011. A funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. on September 3rd at Ascension Catholic Church, 230 Santa Maria Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63005.

Lolly:

We feel privileged to have known Buzz and you. Buzz always had the answer to carpentry questions, and could diagram the solution. He knew brickwork, plumbing and electrical solutions too. He was just the best. The two of you as a couple made the world better. May he rest in peace.

Irv or Buzz as some knew him will be greatly missed. His smile, humor, and laughter were contagious. In our conversations with him he always wanted to know how his Brother Knights at Ascension were doing. He cared deeply for everyone he knew. Thanks Buzz for being a great friend. Our sympathy to Lolly and family,

Buzz was one of the most loving, caring and generous people that I have ever known. He was a Christian, and he and Lolly helped so many people in so many ways over the years. He loved his family and friends so much. When I married their son, Mark, I married into a wonderful family. I have so many wonderful memories from over the years.
I will always love and remember you, Buzz.
