Sorry to hear about the loss of Phil. I grew up knowing Phil since my parents and his parents (Oscar and Lee) were great friends back in their Walther League days. Spent lots of holidays with the Hellwege family . I am 92 now and unable to drive the distance to visit in person Gods blessings to all of you . Lois (Welp) H0ffman

I never met Phil but my sympathies go out to John and all the rest. May God comfort you in this time of grief with the sure and certain hope of reunion and eternal life for those who die in the Lord.

Phil was a real asset to the St.Louis. I work with him for years when I was with the Unitedway. always
light hearted and compassionate. A wonderful individual. He will be in my prayers. God Bless

Phil was a great guy, and a wonderful friend. We served on a Board together for 10 years plus, and he was great. I feel so lucky to have known him!

Phil was a wonderful, kind and generous Christian man. For years he and Shirley supported Lutheran Family and Children’s Services where I worked at the time and they were always guests at the charity auction. In later years I would see them at Stages or the Muny enjoying the show with their daughter and son in law, Judy and Steve. A life well lived! God’s peace to all family and friends.

Shirley, I remember our fun times together many years ago with the couples at Glendale Lutheran Church. Phil was indeed a fine man. We lost touch after we went to the Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood. Emmett has been gone ten years already, but I am glad we had moved to Aberdeen Heights. I know you will always be comforted by the memories you have had together. Martha Kaelble

Phil was always a pleasure to work with, always kind and caring. In retirement it was always nice to run into him at the Muny and visit for a few minutes. Our prayers are with Shirley and the Family.

It was an honor to work alongside Phil at The National Museum of Transportation. His kindness, generosity, and exemplary service as a volunteer Ambassador reflected the very best of our Museum. He was truly a gentleman.
