I was hoping that letting some days go by would help settle the emotions. I found, however, that the opposite has happened as Jim's passing settled in and five decades of memories flooded back. Dear Brady family and especially Kyle and Tyler, please accept my deepest and most sincere sympathy. So many things could be said but you all know how truly special he was and how much you will miss him. He was quite a man and Tyler and Kyle's words at the funeral mass aptly painted a picture of a life well lived and lived on his terms. He leaves a wonderful legacy in all the lives he touched whether it was in the school yard at St. Gab's the B-ball court at DB, all those baseball fields as player and coach or just in his own backyard. I will forever miss him.

My thoughts and prayers to the entire Brady family. I had some good conversations at high school reunions with Jim getting to know him better over the years. He was a very down to earth personable person. He did love teaching, coaching and was so proud of his sons. He was so honest mentioning the ups and downs of his life over the years but maintaining a positive way. He had a challenging but rewarding life.
May he rest in peace.
With sincere sympathy,
Patti Bubash

Tyler, Kyle and Families.
It was not a coincidence that Your Father left us on a Thanksgiving Day. I, as well as many others, consider myself Blessed, or Thankful that mine and Jim's paths crossed.
On a beautiful Saturday at St. Gabriel's and then again at UMSL, Your Father was not finished with His work. Through Him I got to meet His Family, and His Friends.
Each step along life's way is filled with joy and new discoveries for those who walk in Love.

Before baseball consumed our lives. We officiated basketball games together at St. Gabs on Sunday nights. He had the keys and had to lock up.

Two years at our 50th St. Gabe's class reunion, I had the pleasure of sharing the table with Jim. Our discussions of his love for base was his life. He shared other stories of his friends in grade school, the antics at the church and home. He brought much laughter and tears that evening. What a guy! My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Had the fortunate time to converse with Jim in July. Sadly I did not know he was sick. It was a conversation that was so typical of Coach. I always enjoyed the Brady stories and his company. Prayers to the family. Bob Bunton, Parkway North

Diamond Jim is truly a Southside treasure. I am sure he found another game out there in the corn field.

To Kyle, Tyler/Caroline, Maren, Jane and Lynn, Tim, Tom/Sharon and the entire Brady Team.
On behalf of the Greater St. Louis Assc. of Umpires, we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to You at this time.
Jim was more than a Baseball Coach, He was a Man's, Man.
Jim once told me that Baseball doesn't build character, it reveals it. Job well done coach. You wore that uniform well.

My deepest condolences to Jim's family and friends. Jim was my apartment mate which gave us a baseball player, a tennis player, a football player and a basketball player in the same apartment. He was as kind as he was tough, but you knew he was your friend. We had many nights scanning the crowd at Bogarts, and Jim was always the best groomed guy in the place. We used to give him a hard time about how long it took him to get ready for a date or just to go our with the guys. I'm sure he will be missed by all of those whose life he touched.
