James Gleason Obituary

on 12/4/12, James Hedrick Gleason (Jimmy Gleason) succumbed to lung cancer after a brief battle with the illness. Jimmy Gleason was born 11/1/47 to his dearly departed parents Penny and Jack Gleason of St. Louis Mo. He is survived by his dear friends Gary Hoggard and Karen Dreyer as well as his four siblings, Kate Yancey, Mary Jane Miller, John F. Gleason, and Camille Carl Adams as well as nephews, John and Sean Gleason, and nieces Grace, Julia, and Lillian Carl. Jimmy was a vitally creative person who worked in the advertising community for many years as a co-ordinator and photo stylist. Most recently he was employed at Edwin Pepper Interiors where he was a well-loved employee. Jimmy was a brilliant, humorous man loved by many and will be sorely missed. No services will be held as per James' wishes.

Gosh, I just was searching his name on Facebook because I found a wonderful photo of he, Scott and myself why back in the day, 1985ish and wanted him to see it. Truth be told I hadn't spoken to him in decades, but my memories are of Jimmy a wonderful man, funny, smart, had a great laugh, what a loss to the St. Louis community.
so Jimmy , I'm late once again to your party, but hope you like the photo.

Camille, So glad you let me know about Jimmy. I think of him more often than you know. He taught me to iron a men's shirt, dress a bed and so many other things that stay with me today. He helped me understand tolerance and oh how we laughed when things were not perfect...He was a very special person and I will keep you and your family in my prayers at a time when there are no words. Fondly, Vicki Rosenkoetter

My lasting memory of Jimmy: While working in the FB Northland studio, Jimmy, with a hand full of pillows looked at me and said, "If I fall I won't hurt myself!" Loved his humor. My Sympathy to family and Karen D.

Camille, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Jimmy to you and your family. It was always a hoot to work with him. I loved his wicked irreverent sense of humor. He had a flair for the dramatic and could be wild and shocking at times, but he could also be very sweet and down to earth. I am glad that I got to know him. I will miss him..
