James Pousson Obituary

Pousson, James H, 81, of Wentzville, MO, June 5, 2012. Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of Sue Pousson, dear father of J. Mark Pousson, PhD. (Dave Mulanax), Timothy W. Pousson (Kathleen), Matthew F. Pousson (Shyron), and Suzette D. West (Jeff), dear brother to Agnes Marie Verrett, and Margaret Yvonne Verrett (Nolan), loving grandfather of Alexandra and Jakob Pousson, Joe and Emily West, and Jeremy Pousson. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dennis and Theresa Pousson nee Reed, and brother-in-law, Richard Verrett. Jim served in the navy during the Korean War, with a tour of duty from 1949-1954. He served on the aircraft carrier Kearsarge. He retired after 32 years as an aeronautical engineer for McDonnell Douglas. His work included aircraft accident investigation. He was an avid sailor and sailboat manufacturer of Comets and Enterprises. As a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, he was an active member for over 50 years with this charitable organization. He was also a member of the VFW. Upon retirement Jim and Sue moved to Arkansas where they raised cattle and were very active in St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was chairman of the building committee for its new church. Jim and Sue moved back to the St. Louis area in 2005. Jim touched many lives and will be deeply missed. Services: Family will be receiving friends Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Wentzville, MO, with a rosary at 10:30 am. Memorial Mass will follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, the Knights of Columbus of St. Patricks, or Duchesne High School, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385, (636) 3276600.
