Uncle Stan was quite a guy. I remember everything he did to keep his boys. Leaving New Jersey coming home to St. Louis and staying with Grandma Ramshaw. Getting a job and starting a new life for the three of them. No looking back, just forward. I will respect him forever for that act of love.
Then when he remarried, they lived in Walnut Park on Thekla, just around the corner from us on Durant. I used to stop by there alot.He never seemed bothered by this little pest that kept coming by.
Yeah, he would tease the hell out
of you,nothing mean, just teasing,
but you always went away laughing and when he wasn't teasing you, you wanted him to. But he gave solid good advice when you needed it too. Stephanie's story is touching, just a simple act of kindness, but what a memory for Stephanie!
His attitude regarding his situation in the last few years was admirable. I don't know many people that could keep up such a sense of humor about losing both legs. For that he stood tall among all men!
I love him for the person he was respect him for his character and I will miss him.
May the Heavenly Father welcome him Home along with the rest of his family that has gone before him with open arms.
Jim, Tim and Mike and the grandkids keep him alive in your hearts with love for him.
Remember he did the best he could and he did it for you.
Happy Trails, Uncle Stan.
Love Debbie

I HAVE MANY HAPPY MEMORIES OF UNCLE STANTON, BUT I BELIEVE MY FAVORITE IS, SOMETIMES I WOULD WALK WITH MIKE AND TIMMY TO THEIR HOUSE AFTER SCHOOL (ST. SABINA) AND HANG OUT, WHILE WAITING FOR MY FRIEND TO GET OUT OF SCHOOL AT HAZELWOOD JR. HIGH. THIS PARTICULAR DAY, UNCLE STANTON WAS GETTING READY TO GO TO WORK AND I WAS SITTING AT THE KITCHEN TABLE WORKING ON MY SPELLING, HE WAS MAKING SOME GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES AND OF COURSE WE ALL WANTED ONE. THE BOYS WENT TO THE LOWER LEVEL WITH THEIRS AND I WAS TRYING HARD TO SPELL "CONGRADULATIONS", HE SAT DOWN AND WE HAD GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICHES, HE HELP ME TO LEARN HOW TO SPELL IT, NOW EVERY TIME I NEED TO WRITE THAT WORD, I HEAR HIM TELLING ME JUST HOW YOU SPELL IT. HE LEFT FOR WORK AND I WENT TO THE BACK YARD TO SPELL THAT WORD OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO THEIR DOG,THE ALASKIN MALAMUTE. WASN'T HER NAME SUNNY?, IT'S AMAZING HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE NEED TO WRITE THAT WORD! THANKS FOR THAT MEMORY! STEPHANIE
