James Clement Rosner

Rosner, James Clement James Clement Rosner died peacefully on Sunday the 30th of July, 2017. He was 79. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Dorothea Dalzell Rosner, daughters Heidi Burkemper (Paul), Holly Ball (Hal), and Heather Kroeger (Rocky), nine grandchildren: JP, Christopher, and Katherine Burkemper; August, Julian, and Lindsay Ball; Grace, Kaelyn, and Barbara Kroeger. Mr. Rosner was an entrepreneur, whose successes ranged from founding Comprehensive Health Care, a national chain of assisted living facilities, to his early backing of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. He was a passionate lifelong learner who attended Washington University, where he graduated Cum Laude before enrolling in the University's Law School, graduating third in his class. Not content with the mere practice of law, Mr. Rosner utilized his legal training to develop an acute understanding of tax and insurance law, creating innovative tax, estate, and insurance strategies for investors. From establishing the home run record at Washington University, to becoming the youngest ever member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Mr. Rosner set high standards in every field he pursued. His reputation for accomplishing big feats earned him the nickname Gorilla, which his friends shortened to GOR when his prodigious golf drives diminished with age. He was instrumental in founding The Naples National Golf Club in Naples, Florida, which earned a Top 100 rating from Golf Magazine in its first year of eligibility. Mr. Rosner is most remembered for his adoration of his three daughters and his beloved nine grandchildren. GOR to friends, he was Pop to his family, and he spent the last decades of his life as an integral and involved grandparent and husband, sharing his wisdom and good cheer with his many friends and family. Services: A celebration of his life will be held at Old Warson Country Club on Thursday, August 17th at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Shriners Hospitals for Children - St. Louis (4400 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110), where Mr. Rosner spent almost a year at age ten after being hit by a car.
