Gail - I worked with Joan at Lockton and I just learned of her passing. I am so sorry. Joan was such a great coworker and an even better friend. I was lucky to have had a desk right beside Joan for a few years. She was a steady presence and was always willing to help if I needed it. And sometimes that help was a good laugh to get through the stressful days. I always knew Joan was cheering me on no matter what. When I found out I was pregnant with my first son and hadn’t told many people, Joan had hidden a jar of Preggo spaghetti sauce in my desk with a sticky note “You are what you eat ”. She knew I was a little nervous about being pregnant and seeing that would give me a laugh. I could go on with so many other stories - she was a wonderful person. My deepest sympathies to you and her family. She was defin a light in this world.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joan's death. I knew Joan in High School. I remember Joan greeted everyone with a smile and always had something kind to say. She was fun to be around and a friend to everyone. The world is a little sadder place without her.

Joan was more than kind, she was authentically Christian. Encouragement was her operating style. As we worked together she was steady, dependable, and confident. While quiet, she was strong in her humility. I learned much from Joan and admire her gifts. I know many will grieve her passing but feel certain her eternity is secure.

Gail, Joan was already at Lockton when I started there in 1997 and stood out among our 43 employees as a uniquely pleasant and kind person. Joan was someone who could be trusted to carry a substantial workload while also supporting her coworkers’ spirits. When Joan left our company I was so sorry to hear it, and I am now much more sorry to hear Joan has been taken from us much too soon.
