It dosn't seem possiable that my friend Joe left us to soon in life . I work for Wren Reality since 2003 and I was working on a condo cleaning and it was about my second job I had done for Rob and I was locked in the condo . I hear a knock at the door and it was some man I never meet . I was yelling from the other side of the locked door who are you and what do you want . I didnt even think someone might come to work beside me and it was Joe and he said open the door I am here to work .lol We where best friends from that day forward . Joe put in the tile in that condo and stopped the bathtub up with these little plastic things and of course it was from Joe and and the tile so from that day forward he was Joe the tile gie to me and that all I ever knew him as and he niknamed me Buckwheat . He never failed to say whats up buckwheat . I am sadend to hear that he had passed and I am sorry for the family on how hard it is to loose a family member . I lost my brother in June 11 12 and he also knew Joe and he always said I like that gie and he is such a hard worker . We will all miss Joe the tile gie . May you rest in peace Joe my brother in the highest hills of heaven .

My name is Lori Mazzola, I went to grade school with his brother John and lived with Mary N. for a short time while she dated Joe so we were kind of "Roomies" then and although I haven't seen him in several years I feel very affected that he left this earth too early. To all his family my sincere sympathy for your great loss. My memories will continue to hold him as a dear friend, kind, cool, intelligent and damn goodlooking! I think of him each year because in addition to friendship we shared Sept. 10th as our Birthdays! Joe, I wish I could have been there for you in your time of need, but gain solice that you have a large tight family. Peace be with you, your family, and all those lucky enough to have known you. Amen!
Sincerely, Lori Mazzola

I hung out with Joe, Dave and cousin Sue during high school all the time. I know I have pictures of him and especially one with his black camero and long pony-tail looking so cool. He was dating Mary at the time and had an apt together-one of our hangouts. I moved to New York at 19, but those were fun times I'll never forget. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you can try to hold on to memories to cherish as well. May he rest in peace.

All the Metzler kids remember the times our families were together when we we children. Everyone had someone to play with, with some left over. Our hearts are broken for you all.

As someone from the "Alameda Gang" I guess I thought a tough guy like Joe could even overcome death. I am shattered by this news, even though I haven't spoken to Joe in something like 27 years.l I'd rather remember him as the kid I met for the first time at the East Richmond school yard as a young teen. He was the first boy to kiss me and pay attention to me. He will always have a special place in my heart.
