Kitty
How sorry I am I just now learned of John's passing. I would have been at the service today had I known. John was a dear friend to me the many, many years I served the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri. He was a genuine person and will be missed by many.

Dear Kitty and family,
I grew up knowing all of you since our parents were such close friends. Your house was always one where I felt welcome and at home. Mr. Drescher was a warm, kind friend's dad. He always talked to children respectfully, which I appreciated. Later as an adult, I had the privilegs of serving as a fellow delegate to the Metro II council of the Episcopal Diocese. When I was a brand-new delegate and had no idea what I was doing, or what Matro II did, he welcomed me and helped me figure it out. I imagine that if he helped me he also helped many other people, and he will be missed.

Dear Kitty and family,
It seems barely enough to say I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and the family.
John was one of the finest men I have had the honor of knowing. Many years ago he was a great help to me in a moment of need and has always been a valued friend. I'm sorry I cannot be there with you at this time, but you are not far from my thoughts.
A big hug,

To Mr. Drescher's family:
I extend my sympathy to the entire family. He dearly loved you all.
I was a legal assistant who filled in for him when Edna was out and I sat at the next office down from her, so I came to know him pretty well. Mr. Drescher was always the epitomy of a gentleman, with obvious intelligence and a good sense of humor. He added joy to "Retiree Row" on a daily basis.
Kitty, after having gone through the deaths of my father, a sister and a brother in the last two very rough years, I want to say that, even though Mr. Drescher seems to have left us, he lives on in our hearts and, in doing so, will continue to make the world a better place. It is the ultimate gift to pass on from generation to generation.
Love,
Betty Hellige
