John was an extraordinarily kind person, even as a child. He loved his family, his faith, and his music with great joy and intensity. As adults we spoke only occasionally, but after a conversation, the world always seemed a little better. To his brothers and his wife and son, condolences and a promise of prayers.

Our hearts are saddened today with the loss of our friend, John. I had the privilege of working with John for many years at Concordia Publishing House. We may shed tears today, but we will always have happy memories of his poems, songs, stories and winning smile that greeted us each day. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

We loved John here at CPH. He inspired people to be positive through difficulty at work and at life. One of his sayings is written on our Distribution Center wall. It reads, How does CPH do it?!

Aunt Bev, Chris and families -

We are heartbroken over the loss of our sweet Uncle John. Lilly and John would have absolutely loved him and his beautiful songs! We will forever remember him for his lifelong devotion to our Lord and rejoice knowing he is where he always longed to be, with our Savior!

Anyone who had the good fortune to know John is saddened by this news. He was a year behind me in the seminary and sat in front of me in St. Martin's Chapel.

I wish to echo Monsignor McAteer's remarks about John whose personal magnetism, genuine warmth and spiritual depth were unrivaled in my experience.

My heart goes out to his family at the loss of this beautiful soul.

Dear Paquet Family,
I am a seminary classmate of John. Also, we worked together for a summer in Sea Isle City, NJ back in the day.

What a nice man. Kind and friendly. May he rest in peace. He will be fondly remembered by the Class of 1973.

God bless him.

Aunt Bev and family,

Our hearts and prayers are directed at you during this transition. Know that he is now in a much better place, resting, laughing, singing and playing guitar... He was loved by so many and touched the lives of all of us. I'm sure he and my Dad are having a good laugh right at this very moment.

Our sincerest love to you all,

Thomas & Diana Paquet
