Watching John and Pete Traina play midfield for St. Ambrose was an absolute joy and furthermore will be a treasure forever. With regard to John Traina they simply don't come any better. What an example for us all to follow, on and off the field.

Growing up on the Court was like having the biggest extended family ever. The memories will forever live in my heart. John and Fran were the sweetest, and more than neighbors. They are like family. As much as it breaks my heart to know he has passed on, it also makes me smile, knowing he's with his beloved Fran. Our deepest condolences to the entire Traina Family.

John Traina is a St. Louis soccer icon who will always remain an idol for an entire generation of players. He carried himself with a graceful presence on and off the field. His passing is the end of a life but not a relationship. My sincere, heartfelt condolences to the Traina family.

Mr. Traina will be missed, but what great memories of him from the time I was a boy to this day. He was the last of the originals on Tedmar Court. He has missed Fran so much. Now that he is home with his Lord and his dear wife, his broken heart is healed and there is no pain and there are no tears.
God bless you Mr. Traina.

My deepest condolences to the Traina family. I thought so highly of Mr. Traina. He was so good to me and sophomore year at SEA he asked me to join he and Anna at the Father Daughter dance, since my dad had passed years before. It was the kindest offer, and I've regretted my immaturity in declining the offer ever since. He was always smiling, and happily engaged all of us in any of our conversations. Thoughts and prayers as you mourn the passing of a good man, and then celebrate a life well lived.

I always admired John as a good man. We played baseball together for Blue Ridge Bottling Co. back in the 50s, along with Pete and Frank. His best sport was soccer though because he was such a great passer. His goodness will be missed but I'm sure he will be joined by many friends in Heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Traina always had a friendly smile along with and a kind word. The Court will never be the same.
